Ship diesel (MARPOL)

Ship diesel exhaust gases

The monitoring of marine diesel is made mandatory by the MARPOL Directive. In particular, the measurement of sulfur dioxide SO2, which is formed during the combustion of heavy fuel oil, is the focus of this directive. As a reference value for other exhaust emissions, CO2 must also be recorded, since the ratio of the two components is relevant. Wi.Tec has developed a special combination sensor for this, which fulfills this measurement task.
