🎓 The tech industry needs new talents – and these talents needs real-world projects

This year, Wi.Tec Sensorik once again took part in the “Technology and Innovation” project course organized by VDI (Association of German Engineers) at Gesamtschule Schermbeck. We challenged the students with two hands-on topics:

📊 CO₂ Measurement in Classrooms

The students measured how quickly CO₂ levels rise in closed classrooms – reaching up to 3,000 ppm within a single lesson. The impact? A dramatic drop in concentration and cognitive performance. Especially critical during exams. Their conclusion: Regular ventilation isn’t optional – it’s essential.

🤖 AI-Powered Phone Routing

The second team explored how an AI-driven phone system can capture customer inquiries in a structured way, provide initial answers (fed with PDFs, white papers, and technical data), and forward a prepared summary to the right expert. A concept with real potential for B2B customer service.

All students worked with incredible motivation and independence. This is exactly what drives us: Inspiring young people about technology.
